Seek expert advice from a mortgage broker - before buying or refinancing a home

Are you wanting to buy a house? Or refinance your current home? Are you getting overwhelmed with home mortgage rates, home mortgage amortization, home prices and advice from non-expert friends and relatives who, while meaning well, are relaying you information from days gone by? My suggestion to you is that you get the advice of a knowledgeable mortgage expert who is up with his or her current events.

While dealing with a major bank has some advantages, it also has its drawbacks. One of those drawbacks is that they have their products only. If you are needing a home mortgage product that is unique to your situation, the bank may or may not have that mortgage product.

The second great detriment I have found with the major banks is that they are service oriented, and not necessarily 'mortgage product and application' oriented. Service is great, but sound knowledge before service is better. Seek out someone who is in the know - a good mortgage broker could be your answer. A broker is usually not biased to any one product or lender, and can thus help you in establishing what kind of home mortgage product - including rate, amortization, costs involved, etc. - is the right one for your lifestyle and situation. No, they are not all the same - although they can become a blur to many people if they are not walked through what could be a maze of options. My advice is to get advice. Remember - in the abundance of counselors there is victory.
